Winemaker

Jean-Michel Novelle

Jean-Michel Novelle runs the Grand Clos vineyard in Satigny, in the Canton of Geneva. As early as the 80s, Jean-Michel introduced winegrowing practices that are respectful of the vines and replanted the vineyard with entirely different varieties. As well as cover planting between all rows and banning weedkiller and fertiliser, harvesting is done entirely by hand and all of the wine is made at the estate and sold in bottles. Jean-Michel Novelle is a qualified oenologist and as the winemaker at his own estate he takes a creative approach, seeking excellence, aromatic purity and balanced blends.
