AOP Saint-Julien

Château Beychevelle Grand Cru Classé 2015

€2100 Bottle of 10cl

The commune of Saint-Julien is home to 11 classed growths that account for 80% of the appellation. Among these is the famous Château Beychevelle. Treat yourself to a prestigious red wine with a deep purple color and great aromatic complexity. Black fruits intertwine marvelously with notes of roasted coffee, spices and a subtle touch of oak. The mouthfeel is smooth yet surprisingly rich and opulent. The tannins are both powerful and supple at the same time. With a full body and plenty of fruit in the flavors, this wine is an absolute treat.

Château Beychevelle, a prestigious Cru Classé with a soul shaped by three centuries of history. Under Henri III, Beychevelle was the fiefdom of the Dukes of Epernon. According to the legend, the ships passing in front of his château had to lower their sails as a sign of allegiance. Hence the name of ""Baisse-Voile"" which has become Beychevelle. The emblem of the Beychevelle château is a ship with a griffon bow lowering its sail. Philippe Blanc, now the director of the vineyard, strives to give regularity to this 4th Grand Cru Classé in 1855.
