AOP Pessac-Léognan

Château Baret 2015

€660 Flacon de 10cl

These off-dry white wines grown on clay and limestone and clay and gravel soils are quite rare for the Pessac-Leognan appellation.
These wines have an attractive, pale yet beautifully intense yellow color. On the nose, you’ll discover rich, fruity aromas of white peach and candied pear leading into notes of vanilla, almond and tonka beans. The palate of this Pessac-Leognan is a superbly balanced combination of rich flavour and freshness, with liveliness to give it a beautifully long finish.
Spicy dishes are an excellent pairing option – coriander, chives or parsley will really allow the wine to shine.

Château Baret was formerly the estate of the Baret family, a family of nobility, but has belonged to the Ballande family for the last 200 years. The Château lies on the edge of Bordeaux in Villenave d’Ornon and is entirely surrounded by a vineyard, like most of the Pessac-Léognan Grand Cru chateaus. During the last 20 years, the vineyard has undergone a complete overhaul to ensure the production of excellent quality dry white wines.
