Italie - DOCG Gavi di Gavi

Tenuta Olim Bauda 2019

€660 Flacon de 10cl

Discover the wonderful Cortese di Gavi, a native grape variety and one of the Piedmont’s finest. It gives a very pale coloured white wine a rich and opulent nose. Aromas of ripe peach, pear and soft spices have an immediate feel-good effect. Gavi di Gavi from the village of the same name is a round and fruity white wine. Great vivacity on the palate combined with richness for the perfect balance. The finish is deliciously saline and mineral.

Winemaker

Dino Bertolino

This wine takes us to northwest Italy, to the Piedmont region where we have unearthed a gem of a vineyard. Founded in 1961 by the Bertolino family, Tenuta Olim Bauda is a family-run wine estate, today managed by three siblings of the fourth generation, Dino, Diana and Gianni. Planted in the 1950s, the vineyards of Tenuta Olim Bauda cover some 30 hectares or so, across five villages. The vines here are cared for with respect for the land and a conversion to organic farming is under way.
