Italie - DOCG Chianti Classico

Castello di Volpaia 2017

€700 Flacon de 10cl

Located at between 350 and 530 metres above sea level, the vineyards of Volpaia are among some of the highest in the Chianti appellation, which gives the wines there a very special taste. This wine has a purple colour with orange and pink edges. On the nose, aromas of cherry, violet, blackcurrant and raspberry marshmallow produce a very attractive bouquet. On the palate, this Chianti Classico discloses notes of spices. A well balanced wine bursting with fruit and spiciness which combines delicacy and freshness.

Castello di Volpaia, nestled in the heart of Tuscany, is considered as one of the finest wine estates of the entire Chianti Classico wine area. The Stianti-Mascheroni family have been its owners since the 1970s. As well as investing greatly in the modernisation of the village, the family, and in particular Carlo Mascheroni, have fought hard to restore the reputation of Chianti Classico wine. Today, Carlo's children have taken over this work along with the running of the 46-hectare estate which is fully organic.
