AOP Gigondas

Domaine Piaugier 2018

€710 Flacon de 10cl

Here we bring you a Gigondas with a garnet red colour and a raspberry pink rim. On the nose, you have a combination of spiced and peppery notes balanced by deliciously sweet aromas of stewed cherry. Delicate hints of oak and smokiness complete its superbly intense aromatic bouquet. Once on the palate, this wine reveals a beautifully full body and rich spiced and peppery flavours. On the finish, this wine shows excellent length while remaining extremely fresh.

Winemaker

Jean-Marc Autran

Domaine Piaugier is in the southern Rhône Valley. It is here that Jean-Marc Autran and his wife cultivate some 30 hectares of vineyards planted with Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Roussanne and several other varieties. The estate’s story is above all a family one. Everything began with Jean-Marc’s great-grandfather, Alphonse Vautour, nearly a century ago. Although today’s estate is much bigger and more advanced, the winemaking process, from fermentation to bottling, is still performed entirely in Jean Marc’s great-grandfather’s winery, built in 1947.
