Winemaker

Emmanuel Sala

After a nine year search for a place to make fine wine in France, the Carabello-Baum family, from San Francisco made Château de Pommard their home. Château de Pommard is one of Burgundy’s most iconic estates and with 20 hectares of vineyards is also the owner of the largest Burgundy monopole (appellation controlled by a single vineyard). Working in harmony with nature and dedication to winemaking are at the core of the estate’s approach. The Carabello-Baum family’s desire is to ‘let mother nature do the talking’ and ‘to transform Château de Pommard into something that transcends a Burgundy winery, but also retains its core values and deep Burgundian roots’.
