Winemaker

Patrick Lobier

Idyllically located in the heart of 'La Provence Verte', Château de l’Escarelle has undergone a constant process of change and renewal over the years. Patrick Lobier, winemaker at the château for over 20 years now, has witnessed this transformation and devotes his energy to managing the estate with the highest standards of practice. Today, Château de l’Escarelle boasts 1,100 hectares of unspoilt natural surroundings, offering the vines an exceptional setting within which they flourish. Planted on dry-stone wall terraces on gravelly limestone soil, the vine plots hug the slopes of the Escarelle and Montagne de la Loube hills, ascending up to 500 meters above sea level. This range of altitude is one of the vineyard's original features and allows the château to produce highly expressive wines with the sophisticated and unique character that have become Escarelle's trademark.
