AOP Corton Grand Cru

Domaine Jacob 2016

€1110 Bottle of 10cl

Stretching across 100 hectares, Corton is the Côte de Beaune’s only red Grand Cru. Referred to as the ‘king of the bon vivants’ by Guy Maupassant, this wine has a firmly established reputation. Characterized by the aromatic intensity that you only find in Grand Crus, this Corton reveals fruity aromas of candied cherry and strawberry jam, with notes of vanilla and tonka beans. On the palate, the intensity of flavor equals the intensity of the nose, and comes with a smooth and silky mouthfeel.

Robert & Raymond Jacob

Domaine Jacob is a four-generation-old family estate. The two brothers, Robert and Raymond Jacob, took on the business, after their father, in 1983. Now, 23 years later, Raymond’s son has come to work alongside him. Located in the heart of the Côte-d’Or region, this family-run estate has 12 hectares of vines spread across 11 AOCs. Corton is a magnificent 350-metre-high hill, overlooking the villages of Ladoix-Serrigny, Aloxe-Corton and Pernand-Vergelesses.
