AOP Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru

Domaine Lucien Muzard et Fils 2018

€2000 Flacon de 10cl

We are proud to have this exceptional wine in the D-Vine selection. Considered as one of the finest white wines in the world, Corton-Charlemagne is also one of the rare wines to bear the names of two emperors, including Charlemagne or Charles the Great, who is said to have owned the vineyard in the 7th century. This is an aromatically intense wine with the characteristic hazelnut notes of great Chardonnay from Burgundy, accompanied by notes of white fruits and a touch of sweet spices. The mouthfeel is deliciously full and fleshy with a silky texture to add. This is both a rich and lively Corton-Charlemagne which is marvellously balanced as a result.

Claude et Hervé Muzard

The Muzard Vineyard belongs to a very old Santenay family where they have been winegrowers from father to son for nine generations (Jacques Muzard in 1645). Mr and Mrs Lucien Muzard structured the establishment in the 60s by renting vines at first and then bought them little by little. Claude and Hervé Muzard now operate the 16 acres of the family vineyard, spread out over different climates in Santenay, Chassagne Montrachet and Pommard. The overall production of the vineyard is 5% white wines.
