AOP Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru

Domaine Lucien Muzard et Fils 2016

€2000 Bottle of 10cl

We're delighted to bring this exceptional wine to the D-Vine menu. As well as being considered one of the finest dry white wines in the world, Corton-Charlemagne is also one of the only wines to be named after two emperors, one of which being Charlemagne, or Charles the Great, who is said to have owned the vineyard in the 7th century. With buttery, baked apple and acacia aromas, this Corton-Charlemagne shows a rich and elegant nose that is very representative of the Chardonnays of Burgundy and especially those from the Côtes de Beaune. On the palate, this wine is nice and full but with a lively side that prevents it from being overly heavy. Here you have a smooth and supple wine with a real wow factor.

Claude et Hervé Muzard

The Muzard Vineyard belongs to a very old Santenay family where they have been winegrowers from father to son for nine generations (Jacques Muzard in 1645). Mr and Mrs Lucien Muzard structured the establishment in the 60s by renting vines at first and then bought them little by little. Claude and Hervé Muzard now operate the 16 acres of the family vineyard, spread out over different climates in Santenay, Chassagne Montrachet and Pommard. The overall production of the vineyard is 5% white wines.
