AOP Auxey-Duresses

Clos du Moulin aux Moines 2017

€790 Flacon de 10cl

Auxey-Duresses is a village appellation of the Côtes de Beaune and one of the sanctuaries of the Gallo-Roman and Celtic vines. In the past, the activity of the area, which depended on the Abbey of Cluny, revolved around its flour mills and grape presses. Today, Clos du Moulin aux Moines continues the winegrowing tradition of this terroir, producing a deliciously drinkable Auxey-Duresses with a ruby red color and a pale pink rim. The nose is intensely fruity with notes of kirsch, raspberry and strawberry, and the palate is supple, round and full. This is a deliciously delicate wine with flattering aromas and a long spicy finish.

Willy Roulendes

After several years making Burgundy wines at Meursault's Domaine de Montille, Willy Roulendes joined Clos du Moulin aux Moines to manage the vineyards and the cellar, in 2009. Under his direction, the team started the process of converting the eight-hectare vineyard to organic farming. Within a few years, new plots were acquired in the Côte de Beaune, giving the estate a total of 15 hectares of vineyards across the appellations of Auxey-Duresses, Monthelie, Pernand-Vergelesses, Pommard and Saint-Romain.
