AOP Fiefs Vendéens Mareuil

Maison Mourat 2020

€580 Flacon de 10cl

One glance at the stunning pale yellow-gold colour of this Fiefs Vendéens and you’ll fall head over heals for this wine. Right from the first whiff, notes of pear and honeysuckle exude from its nose. As for the palate, fresh fruits dominate, offering beautiful freshness. The finish is a real treat thanks to very nice length and the almost saline-like character of this wine.

Winemaker

Jérémie Mourat

Situated at the western end of the Loire Valley, the Mourat vineyards are caressed by maritime breezes. The family’s story is firmly linked with wine. The Mourats were winemakers and salt merchants until the end of the 19th century, then wine merchants for three generations, before Jean Mourat established the vineyard in 1974. Today Jérémie Mourat runs the business, having taken over in 1998. His goal is to perpetuate the family tradition while also bringing in fresh ideas. For example, the estate has been gradually converting to organic winegrowing over the last ten years.
