AOP Aloxe-Corton

Domaine Maillard 2017

€1130 Flacon de 10cl

This fine wine from Burgundy is a combination of complexity and finesse, starting with its ruby colour and strawberry pink rim. The nose is subtle and exquisite with wide-ranging aromas that go from wild strawberry and raspberry to fresh moss and hints of forest floor. An extra supple texture and finesse give this wine a superb palate, with suggestions of red fruits and peony for flavours.

Alain et Pascal Maillard

Domaine Maillard, which is nowadays a 19-hectare estate, was established in 1952 by Daniel Maillard, whose family before him were also winegrowers. At this estate which makes wines from some of Burgundy’s most prestigious terroirs, the winegrowing methods remain traditional and harvesting is done by hand. Today, it is Daniel’s sons, Alain and Pascal, who are ensuring the sound continuation of the estate.
